Cycle Five: Quarantine
Through a telephone-game, we’ll string together artists to make new work inspired by one another.
Considering the isolation we’re all on the verge of facing, we’re putting out an emergency call to action for the 5th cycle of the project.
Watch it unfold..
We are taking donations to support our artists’ communities during this time. Please consider donating to support people who have found their wages cut due to COVID-19.

I feel uncertain, and a little- to-a lot anxious, but also pretty lucky: My jobs are all paying me for the hours I would be working…
March 21 | Ryan Brown & Udita Upadhyaya
Brooklyn & Los Angeles
Being alive is very a strange experience that's only gotten progressively stranger in the last few weeks.
March 23 | Matt, Deidre, Charley & Square One
Atlanta, Chicago, & New York
I was talking to a friend in Mexico about my dark-clouded worries of a future with no work- “that sounds great!” he said and I’ve been thinking of that since.
March 25 | Hunter, Samantha, Stevie, Matt, Kaylyn, Cindi, Alex & Marnitz
Busan, New York, Madrid, Chicago, Minneapolis, & Atlanta
I feel this week would give me the same feeling if aliens decided to visit Earth. That would somehow probably be much less chill.
March 27 | Katelyn Douglass
Chicago
I’ve always wanted to try stand up - and this seemed like a safe space to give it a go. One guy came out on his balcony and listened for a while. He even clapped at the end.
March 29 | Anya & Ahniya
Door County & Chicago
We are both quarantining together in the basement. My mom leaves us little meals at the top of the stairs every morning.
April 1 | Mike, Michelle, Jae, & Victoria
Japan, Berlin, Chicago
Still trying to figure out the balance of what is good for my body and what isn't. Two weeks in, and I'm only getting further from the answer.
April 4 | Katie, Jiana, Carly, Hayley, Such Creatures, Demery, John & Kori
Brooklyn, Chicago, North Hollywood, & Gulfport
Our love languages as movement artists include physical touch and time with one another in the same space. Without that, how do we maintain connection?
April 7 | Kelly Lamanna
Brooklyn
I'm feeling immense gratitude for the small joys in life with the people I love and admire. It is a true pleasure to pass around these little bits of art with people I know and don't know.
April 9 | Wade & Sarah
Chicago & Seattle
I know others feel this longing for personal contact with their loved ones. And that is comforting to my mind. It makes it easier to imagine those eventual hugs, which never fails to bring a smile to my face.
April 11 | Leonie, Brittany, Audrey & Kedian
Brooklyn, Chicago & Los Angeles
Gertie is our rescue poodle we adopted from @truenorthrescuemission in mid-January. She has been a true blessing in all of this, the quarantine would feel very different without her here. Keenan cooks most of our meals and bakes bread.
April 14 | Emory, Cenza, David, Taylor, Nikki, Conrad, Eddie & Alexa
Chicago, New Jersey and New York City
This week (or month) has been focused on the true champion of pasta sauce. Canned anchovies. Add them with your garlic to take your texture and flavor to new heights for your inevitable pantry pasta. To be paired with a glass of white wine whilst putting together your fifth puzzle.
April 24 | Drew Angle
Chicago
I liked to look out for secret doors or undiscovered passages. I had no idea (and still don’t) how a house is built or how much space you could actually hide out of view. But the idea that an entire mystery could unfold all within your home was very exciting to me.
April 26 | Geoff & Eseosa
New York & Chicago
I've been dealing with a lot of Covid19 related anxiety. I channel it into relief work through The Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Artist Resource Mobilization (ARM) making masks, headbands for nurses, and whatever the need may be that week.
April 28 | Daniel, Madeline, Anni & Ryan
New York & Chicago
On all days, even sad ones, my most overwhelming feeling is wanting to communicate to everyone, EVERYONE, that I love them very much. I’m fascinated by the little-big-ness of telling people you love them. I want it like a big neon sign attached to me at all times. HEY YOU! I LOVE YOU! YES, YOU!
