Chicago

I can't imagine how things would be without the support of my partner, and my friends, and my family, and my fellow coworkers who have also been furloughed during this time. Most of the time, I imagine how amazing it will be to hug all these people. I imagine the embraces lasting forever. I know others feel this longing for personal contact with their loved ones. And that is comforting to my mind. It makes it easier to imagine those eventual hugs, which never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Wade is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Chicago. You can scope out his solo-work on instagram: @rlprincesspeach

April 9 | Sarah Lynn Kelly

Seattle

Seattle has been unusually warm and sunny this week and I am so here for it! I try to stare directly into the sun for at least seven minutes every day and have relished in the fact that I could actually wear shirts that expose my elbows for the first time since October. I have also consumed more cheese than any one human should and I am pretty sure me and a squirrel are now friends, but that's a different story for another time...

I believe that objects and images can act as carriers of meaning and emotional resonance. Within the compositions I make, colorful and saturated images/objects merge together to describe moments of transition between varying spaces. Scenes become overlapped and fade to the point of being indiscernible from each other. By working intuitively, letting each piece evolve over time and in unexpected directions, I use digital fragmentation to understand the mystic connection between memory, fact, observation and instinct.
